Solar Roof Venting

Jordan Roofing is proud to offer our customers the option to install a solar power vent that is within their budget. Solar venting can be installed instead of more passive roof venting to help with heat build-up in your attic during the summer and ice at you eaves in the winter. Solar venting products are eligible for a 30% tax credit on material and installation. Please consult your tax advisor on how this may apply to you.

The problem with other roof venting is that they do not work to aggressively pull air from your attic all the time. During those hot summer days when the sun is beating down and there is not even a slight breeze, ridge vents and static (box) vents are not pulling air from your attic. You can feel the heat in your attic building up and radiating through your ceiling making your air conditioner work even harder to keep the house cool. On those days your solar roof vent will be working its hardest changing the air in your attic 10 to 15 times per hour cooling your attic making your air conditioner more effective. On cold winter days when typical roof vents are covered with snow they are not working at all. Solar vents sit up off the roof and are working with almost any sunlight, which means it is still pulling warm moist air from your attic and reducing the possibility of ice at your eaves.
